Lessons learnt about the projects
We learnt that the students enjoyed working on the project. They worked in rather big groups and had different roles. Teachers have supported the students very well
Lessons learnt about the videoconferencing.
The conference lasted 60 min. 20 min. was needed for the technical check and the short presentation of the participants
Videoconferencing is a good tool to discuss. It is important to have on the agenda concrete questions. Chat has been used very efficiently: each participant could respond to questions asked by the moderator so that participation of all was ensured. Students did enjoy the video conferencing
Conclusions and recommendations
At the end of the session we discussed
1. Topics for next year project. Students agreed that the topics of this year were very suitable. Other topics suggested were 'global warming' 'racism'
2. Should we use private email? Students are allowed to use private email. Groups of students should be linked
3. How to use videoconferencing in eJournal projects?
Students can take part from home. Best number of computers connected is between 5 and 10. best option is to have a videoconferencing at the beginning of the project
