Lessons learnt about the projects
We learnt that the students enjoyed working on the project Values. The parents and grandparents were involved as they were interviewed by the students. Finding out what the most important values are at school was challenging as well. Students also reflected more on values.
Lessons learnt about the videoconferencing.
The conference lasted 60 min. 20 min. was needed for the technical check and the short presentation of the participants
Videoconferencing is a good tool to discuss. It is important to have on the agenda concrete questions. Chat has been used very efficiently: each participant could respond to questions asked by the moderator so that participation of all was ensured
Video conferencing has to be prepared very well. 1. technical check 2. sending an agenda
|
|
Conclusions and recommendations
At the end of the session we discussed
1. Should we use private email? eJournal has a built in messaging board which should be used more.
2. How to use videoconferencing in eJournal projects?
Max. three times in the course of a project. Students can take part from home. Students take part in small groups at one computer or individually. Number of computers depends on the connection. Best number of computers connected is between 5 and 10
